Risk Controls And Enforcement

Provider Accreditation:

• Only verified, licensed institutions may onboard.
• Afremit requires proof of regulatory registration (e.g., HPCSA, NHIF, etc.).
• Providers must agree to Afremit's Medical Services Addendum outlining permitted service types.

Quote Vetting & Filtering:

• Quote requests are pre-structured and limited to approved service types.
• Custom quote entries are scanned for restricted keywords (e.g., “surgery”,“emergency”, “ICU”).
• Flagged submissions are automatically rejected or routed for manual review.

Escrow Release Policy

• Milestone payments are released only upon:
  - Proof of service (e.g., test report, signed invoice).
  - Confirmation from diaspora payer.
• No milestone will be released without sufficient documentation.

Dispute Resolution

• Afremit’s dispute policy is strictly limited to:
  - Non-performance (no service rendered).
  - Pricing discrepancies against approved quote.
• Clinical outcomes, diagnoses, or dissatisfaction with health results are explicitlyexcluded.

Liability Disclaimers

• Afremit is a payment intermediary, not a healthcare provider.
• Platform users must accept a disclaimer before completing transactions.
• All medical liability rests solely with the licensed institution delivering care.

Data Privacy & Consent

• Diaspora payers must upload proof of relationship or obtain patient consent before initiating payments.
• Afremit adheres to data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR) and does not share health records.
• Encrypted storage and access protocols apply to all uploaded documents.

Monitoring & Audit

• Monthly audits of medical transactions will be performed by Afremit’s compliance team.
• Providers offering unauthorized services will face:
  - Account suspension.
  - Escrow hold or reversal.
  - Permanent removal from the platform (for repeat offenses).

Insurance & Legal Indemnity

• Afremit maintains professional liability insurance for payment processing but does not insure medical outcomes.
• All service providers must sign an indemnity clause absolving Afremit from any director indirect medical consequences.
• Legal disclaimers are embedded across medical-related user flows.

Amendments

• Afremit reserves the right to review and update this policy every six (6) months or in response to new regulatory guidance or emerging platform risks.

Acknowledgment

• By continuing to participate in Afremit's Medical category, all providers and payers agree to comply with this Risk Policy in full.
